Ka'b in Arabic means cube and Ka'bah literally means a high place of respect and prestige.

The Ka'bah is a one-room stone structure in Makkah in Saudi Arabia. It is in the middle of the Sacred Mosque (Masjid al Haram). It is the direction that Muslims face during their five daily prayers. This unites Muslims, praying to the one true God, turning towards one direction-the sacred house of Allah, no matter where they are.

The Ka'bah is the first house that was built for the worship of Allah. Allah the Most High says: "Verily, the first house of worship appointed for mankind was that at Bakkah (Makkah), full of blessing and guidance for all that exists". [Qur'an: Aal 'Imran: 96]

ما هي الكعبة؟

 الكعب في اللغة من الشيء المكعب، وسميت بالكعبة لارتفاعها وعلو مكانتها

والكعبة هي بناء حجري من غرفة واحدة، وتقع في قلب المسجد الحرام بمكة المكرمة في المملكة العربية السعودية. وهي قبلة المسلمين التي يستقبلونها عند أداء الصلوات الخمسة، فبها يتحد المسلمين، ويصلي جميعهم لله الواحد الحق مستقبلين القبلة نفسها أينما كانوا

يقول الله تعالى: "إِنَّ أَوَّلَ بَيْتٍ وُضِعَ لِلنَّاسِ لَلَّذِي بِبَكَّةَ مُبَارَكًا وَهُدًى لِلْعَالَمِينَ" [آل عمران: 96]
