Description

When Ismail was born to Hajrah, Allah commanded Ibrahim to take Hajrah and his son to valley of Makkah. After leaving Hajrah and his son there he used to visit them regularly. On one of his visits, Ibrahim

came to Ismail and said "Allah has commanded me to build a house here" pointing to a small rise in the land that was higher than the land around it.

Then they laid the foundations of the House and Ismail started to bring the stones and Ibrahim started to build. When the structure got higher, Ismail brought the stone which is the station of Ibrahim', today and put it down. Ibrahim stood on it and carried on the building work with Ismail handing the stones to him. They were both saying while going around the house:

"Our Lord! Accept this service from us. Verily, You are the All-Hearer the All-Knower." [Qur'an: Al Baqarah:127]

رفع قواعدها إبراهيم عليه السلام

لما ولد إسماعيل عليه السلام من أمه هاجر، أمر الله إبراهيم عليه السلام أن يهاجر مع زوجته هاجر وابنه إلى وادي مكة. وترك إبراهيم زوجته وابنه هناك وواظب على زيارتهما بانتظام. وفي إحدى زياراته أخبر إبراهيم ابنه إسماعيل، عليهما السلام، عن أمر ربه ببناء الكعبة، وقال: "إنَّ الله أمرني أن أبني ها هنا بيتًا له"، ثم أشار إلى أرض مرتفعة عما حولها

ورفع إبراهيم وإسماعيل عليهما السلام القواعد من البيت، وبدأ إسماعيل عليه السلام بتحويل الحجارة ليبني إبراهيم عليه السلام الكعبة، حتى إذا ارتفع البناء جاء إسماعيل عليه السلام بحجر، وهو مقام إبراهيم اليوم، فوضعه فاعتلاه إبراهيم عليه السلام ليتابع البناء بينما يناوله إسماعيل عليه السلام الحجارة. وكانا يقولان: "رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا إِنَّكَ أَنتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ".
